WELCOME TO SF SOUNDS
This is a showcase for my work, professional and otherwise! I mainly carry out Sound Design and write music for Audio Dramas, as well as composing for PC Game MODS, and of course, for pleasure! Under the 'Music' you will find music you can download and 'Sound' provides information on the Productions I have worked on, along with Samples.
Please be respectful and don't use the music without permission and feel free to contact me if you like what you hear.
LATEST NEWS & SITE UPDATES
Quick Update
21st September, 2008
So, 'Brotherhood of the Daleks' is put to bed and I have a few weeks breathing space until working on an Episode of the upcoming 45th Anniversary release - "Forty Five".
Hopefully that will mean I'll have chance to finally update the releases on the site, but you never know! Lots of other things to catch up on as well.
Catch you soon.
Hello, Here I Am!
28th June, 2008
Yes, still about and working hard! It's been a funny old few months since my last update, where on top of underestimating the impact of baby number 3, there's been other stuff beyond my control that have just got in the way of working as often as I want (or is that need!).
Finally back in to the swing of things in the last couple of weeks, but man have I been busy on 'The Boy that Time Forgot', and one at challenge it's been. Looking forward to it coming out though.
Next I'm on to Stargate SG-1 'Savarna' followed closely by 'Brotherhood fo the Daleks' - very much looking forward to that, as I just love working with the Daleks. I've not seen the csript yet, so I'm intrigued as to what it's all about.
Looking forward to a Holiday with the family in July in the middle of all that - I really can't wait!
And I WILL get around to updating the releases soon, but for now I have listed the missing ones on the relevant pages with links to the Big Finish site.
Cheers for now.
Babies, Building & Back to Work
5th April, 2008
All the B's this week! Babies first - I am delighted at the arrival of child number 3, Archie Joshua Foxon, born on the 27th March, and weighing in at 6lb 4oz. His so cute, and so tiny.
In order to make way for Archie, we have had the garage converted, and amongst other things, this now houses my studio / office. This week involved a lot of funriture building and moving, and a lot of concentrating to make sure all thw wires went back in the same place! Anyway, I'm all up a running again, and I have to say I like my new den - very nice :-)
So, for the final B, back to work. 'The Dark Husband' has just been released, but even more exciting, 'Gift of the Gods' has been made available, and seems to have gone down well so far. I've just been putting the finishing touches to the Torri Higginson interview, and the trailer for here story 'A Necessary Evil' should be with you soon.
So, work starts tomorrow on 'Shell Game', and meanwhile I'll also be reading 'The Boy that Time Forgot', my next Doctor Who project. That's recording this month, and I'm looking foward to going to the sutdio for a day to soak up the atmosphere (and of course enjoy one of the famous lunches).
Finally, I hope to update my lists of PRoductions soon, if I can find time! Cheers.
Stargate, Covers, Trailers & TNM
25th February, 2008
'The Dark Husband' is done, as is the first Stargate story 'Gift of the Gods'. The good news is that there's now a Stargate section on the Big Finish website, which can be found here. You'll see there's also the first Atlantis story 'A Necessary Evil' showing as well, which is the current project I am working on.
The cover for 'The Dark Husband' has been recently release, so you can see it under my Latest Projects to the right. You'll also notice the addition of a trailer! For future release I am working on, this is something I will have on the site from now on. The 'Gift of the Gods' one should be too long away - it's done but awaiting approval.
Also, unless you've been living on a different planet for the last few weeks, you'll have heard that Big Finish have started to offer downloads, which will eventually include their entire catalogue. I'm also quite excited that they will be offering isolated music scores for download soon, which of course will include some of mine. They will be released on a monthly basis so as not to flood things to start, so there will be a couple of mine to start with.
Oh, and finally I have changed the latest music! It's now a couple of samples from TNM, this time from the DXI Ruins. I've let myself in for doing a few more bits for them if I can find time - it's just to hard to say no. Look to the right and scroll down for the samples.
Anyway, back to Torri Higginson's lovely tones......
New Year, New Design, New RSS
9th January, 2008
So, 2008 has arrived and I thought that was a good point to launch the new site design! I hope you like it, I'm certainly very pleased with it, and it's taken a long time to do, but I got there in the end.
The contents all the same, you'll still find the same stuff as before (for now), just follow the new links on the left navigation bar. I'll hopefully be getting around soon to updating all my latest projects on the Big Finish page, but I've concentrated on getting the site up instead.
Another main difference, is that this main page will be home to all the latest news in full now, with link at the bottom to the archived stuff.
I'm also pleased to have figured out how to add an RSS Feed which will inform you when there are site or news updates. Feed links are to the right and up a bit.
Doctor Who & Stargate!
9th January, 2008
So, I've had a bit of a break and it was very nice, but am about to get back in to the swing of things, starting off with a project I am chuffed to be working on from the beginning - Stargate! Yes, Big Finish are now starting to produce Stargate Audio's in a similar mould to the 'Companion Chronicles', where it's more a book than a play, with a main character narrating, and a 2nd person in a smaller role.
I'm working on the first one which is called
'Gift of the Gods' and stars Michael Shanks as Daniel Jackson, with John Schwab as Major Hunter. I've started already, and I have to say it was with great glee that I donned the headphones whilst doing the dialogue edit and listening to 'Daniel'. He's sounding great, it's an excellent story to start the series off, and hopefully I'll do it some justice as well!
I will be doing more, probably the 2nd, and then a couple more. I'd love to do them all, but of course I still crave Doctor Who as well, so I am also about to start work on 'The Dark Husband' which had me laughing out loud quite a few times when reading the script. but still managed to keep a serious side to it - all together a great script.
Anyway, back to work.
Steve.
